The overseas market has become a crucial aspect for any filmmaker in India and at the same time, the element of piracy is also becoming a concern. With torrents on internet and professional pirates on the web, many latest and big budget movies are readily available on the internet the next day after release.
But here is one director who is not too bothered with all that. His name is Mysskin and he is a big name in Kollywood. Soon, he would be arriving with his movie ‘Mugamoodi’ in Tamil and this has been dubbed as ‘Mask’ in Telugu. Apparently, Mysskin reportedly mentioned that even if one sees the film in DVD in pirated version they will still come to the theatres.
Those who heard this statement say that indirectly he has challenged NRIs as the piracy stuff and downloading stuff happens a lot in that area. Well, the film has Jiiva as the hero and he has an okay following overseas. So, maybe the NRI folks might try watching the pirated version first and then come to the theatres if they find the film worthy.
